It has been long since I posted any nail art tutorial on Diva Likes. So I am back today with a new tutorial. In my previous review on Maybelline Color Show Nail Lacquer Tenacious Teal, I was wearing a color block nail art on my pinky finger and I had promised all of you that I will be posting a tutorial on it. So here I am to keep my promise. I have made some changes in the design this time. I am going to show you all how to create this wonderful color block nail art in few minutes. Color block nails have been rocking the fashion world since long. This nail art gives you the freedom of sporting different nail colors compactly in the form of a design on your nails. You can mix and match the colors as per your wish. The best part of this nail design is that you can create your own patterns and geometric shapes. Let's see how to achieve this look.
Things You Will Need:
Procedure:
Start off by applying a base color on your nails. Wait for the color to dry. Letting the color dry completely is very important because we will be applying tape on our nails and wet nail paint can lead to sticking and mess. I usually let it dry for good 10-15 minutes before proceeding.
Once dried, take a piece of tape and place it diagonally over the base color across your nails as shown in the picture. Place the tape firmly otherwise the second nail color you are going to apply can seep into the base color.
Now fill the visible part of the nail with second nail color.
Peel off the tape slowly and carefully so that the color doesn't get messed up.
Once the second shade dries completely, apply the tape again straight across the second shade as shown in the picture. Apply it in a way as if you are creating a french manicure. You can see the tip of your nail with the second shade. Apply the third shade of nail paint you selected over it. Once applied, you can remove the tape and let it dry.
Once everything is dried, apply your top coat. Your color block nails are ready to be flaunted.
You can mix and match any colors for this color block nail art. Even glitter nail paints can be mix and matched to create a fun party look. You can place the tape as per your wish for whatever design you want to create. The possibilities are endless and you can just let your imaginations run wild.
