With the onset of winters comes the problem of dry and flaky skin. The layer of dry skin flakes makes our face appear dull and lifeless. The way we have to protect our skin in summers from the sun rays, we have to take care of our skin in winters too. A proper cleansing, toning and moisturizing routine is necessary every day. But cleansing, toning and moisturizing cannot buff away the dead and flaky skin. For that, use of a good scrub at least once a week is very important. If the scrub you are using is made of natural ingredients, it is more advantageous as you are not using any chemicals on your face. Talking about good natural scrubs, they are hard to find in the market. But one brand which promises a complete holistic approach in all its products is Aroma Magic. This brand has never let me down and the product I am going to review from this brand is Aroma Magic Peppermint Exfol Gel. Read on to know my views on the product.
About Aroma Magic Peppermint Exfol Gel:
I am 100% free of harsh chemicals, alcohol, parabens, phthalates, sulphates, artificial fragrance & coloring. As an exfoliating gel enriched with active enzymes. I deep clean and lighten your skin leaving it blemish free and refreshed, without irritating, scratching the delicate skin on your face and neck. My unique combination of natural ingredients of cornflower, lemon balm and orange extracts gently dissolves the dry flakes & impurities blocking the pores of the skin. My aromatherapy blend of lavender and peppermint essential oils provides a protective shield, hydrates your skin and helps to waken your senses.
Price:
140 INR for 100 ml.
Shelf Life:
36 months
Ingredients List:
Aqua, centaurea cyanus extract, vegetable glycerin, aloe barbadensis leaf gel, peppermint essential oil, lavandula angustifolia essential oil, orange acid, Melissa officinalis extract, food grade color.
Directions For Use:
Apply scrub on your face, neck and body. Massage gently with dry fingers and rinse off. For best results, leave it on for 10 minutes before rinsing. Pat your skin dry with a soft towel and continue with the rest of your skin care routine. Use twice a week.
My Experience With Aroma Magic Peppermint Exfol Gel:
I would like to share some information on peppermint before proceeding with the review. Some people develop an allergy called Contact Dermatitis when coming in contact with peppermint oil. The parts exposed to the oil develop rashes along with redness and swelling of skin. So I would advice everybody to test before using this.
Coming to the review, the scrub comes in a simple yet elegant white tube with green floral prints like most of the Aroma Magic products. It has a screw cap on top which is tight and makes the tube travel-friendly. The gel is transparent with pinkish tinge to it. It smells completely herbal and medicinal. It has a very strong smell. I will definitely not call it a scrub. Scrubs are generally meant to buff away dead skin cells and have some sort of particles in it but this scrub does not contain any particles. It is just a gel.
Once applied, it feels very cool on the skin. If left for 10 minutes like mentioned on the pack, it completely disappears on the skin and just leaves a light sticky feeling. It does not remove any dead skin cell or blackheads. I expected this after looking at the gel. It does not impart any lightening or glow of any kind. As I said in the review earlier, I developed some pimples after using this gel for the first time. But when used on hands, it did not give any reaction on me. So I will finish the tube on my hands and legs only. Overall I did not like this product as I expected it to be a scrub but it's just a gel with no visible results.

Cons Of Aroma Magic Peppermint Exfol Gel:

Final Note:
I would like to conclude that this product is not something I had expected. I don't understand how it is called a scrub, as it contains no scrub particles at all. It just provides a cool feeling without providing any lightening effect. Moreover I developed pimples after using this. So I would not recommend this to anyone and even I am not going to repurchase it.
