Life has a pleasant way of surprising us. At times, when we think about something from our heart, it is indeed a great joy to see it shape up in reality. And that is exactly how I was surprised right at the beginning of my vacation. Enroute to Paris, I was scanning through an in-flight magazine when I came across the perfume brand Guerlain. Being a huge fan of fragrances, I realized that this is one of the brands in my perfume wishlist that I was really looking forward to try. My sojourn at Paris began with a warm welcome by my friend's family who presented me with a gift to mark our first meeting. The gift was a rectangular box wrapped in red gift wrapper with a pink ribbon running across it. As I gently started unwrapping the red paper, I saw the word Guerlain gradually appear in front of my eyes. And needless to say, I was overjoyed at the sight of this wonderful welcome gift. It was none other than Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Eau De Toilette, which literally means "The Little Black Dress" more famously known as LBD, the must-have for all the pretty ladies. Since this is one of my newest treasured possessions, I decided to review it as my come back post after a long absence from the gorgeous Diva Likes circuit. So ladies, read on to know my impressions about Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire.
About Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Eau De Toilette:
I am absolutely essential and utterly irresistible. I am the chic and very glamorous perfumed creation by Guerlain. My fragrance is a fresh and swirling floral lace, embroidered with sparkling fruity notes. My glass showcase is the legendary "heart-shaped" bottle, which has been boldly reinterpreted with a modern touch. Its crystalline transparency, tinged with a delicate, powdery pink, reveals a silhouette of my sophisticated little strapless dress, ready to dance!
Fragrance Notes/Description: Fresh floral, delicate, swirling.
In the first wink, a bouquet of rose, jasmine and orange blossom takes flight to a delicate melody. The second twirl takes place as cherry, apple and blackcurrant enter the stage, refreshed by explosive green notes. Finally, white amber temptations are revealed and a cloud of white musks envelops the ensemble in a cozy halo.
Price:
$86 for 50 ml / 1.6 fl oz.
Ingredients List:
Alcohol, Aqua, Parfum (Fragrance), Ethylhexyly Methoxycinnamate, Limonene, Coumarin, Butylene Glycol Dicaprylate, Citronellol, Geraniol, Linalool, BHT, Citral, Benzyl Alcohol, Farnesol, Eugenol, Alpha Isomethyl Ionone, Benzyl Benzoate, Benzyl Salicylate, Hydroxycitronellal, Isoeugenol, CI 14700 (Red), CI 60730 (Ext. Violet 2), CI 19140 (Yellow 5)
My Experience With Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Eau De Toilette:
The name, La Petite Robe Noire immediately evokes an image of the most iconic LBD immortalized by the fashion icons over the years. True to its name, this fragrance comes in a glamorous transparent glass bottle with a pinkish hue, owing to the light tinted perfume and of course, the iconic inverted-heart shaped stopper. A petite, baby pink ribbon with the words "Guerlain" printed on it, hugs the lid. On the outer box of the perfume is a pretty and chic strapless black dress with a belt running around the midriff, adding to the elegance of the packaging. This stylish bottle, designed by Kuntzel+Deygas, totally added a chic quotient to my perfume collection. La Petite Robe Noire EDT, created by Guerlain's perfumer Thierry Wasser, is a lighter version of the Eau de Parfum.
I generally don't like perfumes with sweet and fruity notes which smell like bubblegum! It constantly gives a very sickly sweet and sugary scent which is not something I prefer wearing. But La Petite Robe Noire is nothing like those excessively sweet perfumes. Its musk diffusion tones down the sweetness, thus giving a very clean, dry and floral scent. This young, feminine perfume has its own mysterious side. La Petite Robe Noire is perfect fragrance for all occasions. However I will not wear it everyday because it is a unique scent that I would prefer wearing on special occasions, as we all know the power of perfumes when it comes to evoking memories and nostalgia. Hence this perfume is reserved for the special moments and occasions. One spray is enough to fill the air with a relaxed, joyful spirit and stays on me for almost 6-7 hours. Once the fragrance dries and settles down, I get an occasional subtle whiff of cherry which added a new zest to my mood. La Petite Robe Noire is definitely one of those perfumes which will always find a place in my perfume collection!
Pros Of Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Eau De Toilette:
Cons Of Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Eau De Toilette:
Diva Likes Rating:
5/5
Final Note:
For me, Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Eau De Toilette is one of those few perfumes which offer a bouquet of perfect infusion of fruity and floral notes with a hint of musk. It has a youthful, feminine touch without being too girly. If you have a penchant for perfumes, La Petite Robe Noire is absolutely a must-buy for this winter!
