Who doesn't want to have flawless skin like the models and actresses we see in magazines? We all long for this and so we have to try whatever it takes. We spend so much money, time and energy in getting perfect skin. But behind our parlour bills, we forget that our kitchen is a storehouse of remedies for almost each and every skin problem. There are so many ingredients in our kitchen which can be used for making our skin flawless. All we need is time. No matter how costly products I use, I always make it a point to use some natural and organic ingredients on my skin at least once a week. There are cleansers, toners, moisturizers and even hair packs readily available in our kitchen. I admit that our fast-paced life does not give us much time for home made remedies. But if we take out some time, then it is definitely going to work as there are no chemicals and artificial ingredients involved. Today's post is about one such homemade skin care product which I have been using for long. I am talking about Green Tea Sugar Facial Scrub which has been tried and tested by me many times.
Ingredients Used & Their Benefits:
1. Green Tea:
Green tea an amazing ingredient for keeping us fit. Apart from accelerating weight loss, green tea is also a wonderful ingredient for the skin. Green tea is rich in naturally occurring antioxidants which are known to be capable of fighting skin damage caused by UV rays. If the harmful effects of UV rays are reduced, it ultimately leads to reduced risk of skin cancer. Moreover, green tea can also be used to reduce under eye puffiness and provides a soothing effect.
2. Honey:
Honey also known as Liquid Gold is good for everything - weight loss, hair, skin. Its anti-inflammatory properties work great in reducing acne and its moisturizing power provides glow to the skin along with hydration.
3. Sugar:
Though sugar is not good for health, it's great to our skin. It is a natural exfoliating agent because of its coarse nature. It unclogs pores and refines them. It also slows down aging process.
Now that we know about the magical ingredients used for preparing this scrub, let's take a look at its preparation.
Procedure:
Get your ingredients handy. Take a cup full of warm water and put the green tea bag in it. Let is brew for 2 minutes.
Now tear open the green tea bag and put the tea leaves in a bowl. Mash it a little bit with your fingers.
To this, add one tablespoon of honey and one teaspoon of sugar.
Mix up everything well. If the mixture seems too dry, add a teaspoon full of the brewed tea. Your green tea facial scrub is ready.
Directions For Use:
Spread this scrub on your face and gently massage in a circular motion concentrating on areas prone to blackheads and whiteheads. Leave it on for 10-15 minutes and wash it off with lukewarm water followed by a splash of cold water to close down the pores.
I hope you all will try this scrub and definitely love it's after effects. You can replace sugar with rice powder or even coffee powder. People with acne problems should stay away from coffee powder as it triggers acne. Any exfoliating ingredient you find can be used as a substitute for coffee powder. This facial scrub can be used 1-2 times a week. Enjoy your green tea sugar scrub to get baby soft and smooth skin.
