If you are searching for the recipe of a sweet with less number of ingredients then this recipe is for you. Different people follow different preparation methods for making gaajar ka halwa. I am sharing the simplest method which I follow.
Ingredients:
Carrot - 1 kg
Sugar - 1 cup
Milk - Half cup
Ghee - 3 tablespoon
Cardamom - 2(powdered seeds)
Cashew - 2 tbsp
Raisins - 2 tbsp
Preparation:
Peel off the outer layer of carrot and grate the carrot finely.
Keep a pan on heat and pour ghee into. Add the grated carrot in it.
Cook on low flame for 30 mins by stirring the carrot. You can see that the colour of carrot is slighlty changed and its nearly cooked.
Once you confirm that the carrot is not raw anymore, add sugar to it. Mix well and keep on low flame for 15 mins. You can increase/decrease the sugar quantity based on your taste at this stage.
The carrot now absorbs the sugar completely. Then add milk to it and mix again.
Keep on low flame for another 15 mins.
Slightly roast the cashews and raisins and add this to the carrot mix along with cardamom.
Mix well and take off from heat.
The carrot pudding/gaajar ka halwa is ready to be served. Get ready to satisfy your sweet tooth.
Serving Options:
Serve this separately as a dessert or along with icecream of your choice.
