My first recipe on shrimp in this blogspace is chilli shrimp. It is one of the best shrimp starters I have ever tasted. I happened to eat this starter at a restaurant and since then this has been my favourite. I tried this out at home recently and it was awesome. Let's see how the preparation goes by.
Ingredients:
Shrimp(small) - 1 lb
Salt - As per taste
Oil - 2 tablespoons
Turmeric Powder - 1 tablespoon
Onions - 1(Finely chopped)
Green Chillies - 2(Finely chopped)
Cashew nuts - 2 spoonful
Red Chilli Sauce - 2 tablespoon.
Orange Food Color - 1 tablespoon.
Preparation:
Take the shrimp in a bowl of salted water and boil it for 15-20 mins. Once done, remove the water and keep the boiled shrimp aside.
Take a pan to heat and add oil to it. Add onions and green chillies to it and fry till the onions turn light brown in color.
Add tumeric powder and cashewnut pieces to the fried onions.
Add the boiled prawns to the pan and mix it. Cook it for 10 mins.
Add the red chilli sauce along with orange food color and mix with the shrimp and cook for another 10 mins.
Once done, remove the pan from heat and serve hot.
Serving Options:
Serve the chilly shrimp as a starter and enjoy the chilli shrimp.
