Priya from Food Lovers is our second guest contributor in "Be My Guest With A Guest Post". She loves trying out new dishes. The recipe she is going to share with us is crushed chicken and pepper fry. She happened to taste this recipe few years back in her native. Recently she thought of it and tried it her own way by recollecting the ingredients and it turned out to be too good. Pepper's aroma and flavor makes this dish great. Check it out and pour in your comments.
Ingredients:
Chicken - 250 grams
Onions - 2(Sliced)
Garlic pods - 5
Turmeric powder - Half tablespoon
Ginger garlic paste - Half tablespoon
Salt - As per taste
Curry Leaves - Handful
Pepper - 2 tablespoons
Oil - 2 tablespoons
Masala Ingredients:
Bay leaf - 1
Star anise - 1
Saunf - Half tablespoon
Cinnamon - Small piece
Preparation:
Marinate chicken with salt and turmeric for 10 minutes and pressure cook for 3 whistles.
Dry roast pepper, crush and grind them coarsely and keep it aside. I have used mortar and pestle, this can be done using mixie too. Crush the masala ingredients too coarsely.
Remove chicken from cooker and crush them nicely. Remove all big bones.
Heat oil in a pan and add masala ingredients followed by garlic and curry leaves. Now add sliced onions and saute well or till it turns light golden brown. Add salt along with turmeric powder and mix well. Now add the crushed pepper, fry them along onions and add the crushed chicken.
Mix well and simmer the flame. Keep it for 5-10 mins or till it gets lightly roasted. Mix well for every 2 minutes so that it gets roasted properly.
Remove from flame and serve hot with rice.
You can try this recipe with boneless chicken also.
Serving Options:
This will make a lovely snack. Though it is time consuming, you will relish every spoon of it.
