For all the chicken lovers who love to try different varities of chicken, here is another recipe I tried out. This is done in similar way as that of Fish in Tamarind Gravy recipe which is here. And the taste is just awesome. Why I chose drumsticks is because of his tenderness. It has a tangy taste along with some sweetness which is due to jagggery. I am sure chicken lovers are gonna love this!
Ingredients:
Preparation:
Take a bowl and add tamarind and warm water. Smash the tamarind well in warm water using your hand and allow it to stay for half an hour. Post which remove the tamarind pieces and take the juice aside and keep it.
Take a pan to heat and add oil to it. Add the chicken drumstick pieces along with tamarind juice(which we prepared earlier), turmeric powder, onions, green chillies and salt. Cook this for about 15-20 mins.
Once it gets nearly half cooked, add jaggery and red chilli powder and mix well. Allow it to cook for another 15 mins.
Once cooked, garnish with coriander leaves and serve. The gravy will be of a mixed taste which includes the taste of tamarind as well as jaggery.
