Now that you already know how to prepare dosa batter from my previous post here, I want to share with you all a snack item which is made using dosa batter. Punugulu/Dosa batter balls is one of the favorite snacks in the Andhra region. Every roadside stall has punugulu being served in the evening times and trust me, it tastes heaven. It is made with dosa batter and hence whenever there is left-over dosa batter at home, we make this snack. Its a perfect tea-time snack and is quite simple provided the dosa batter is ready.
Ingredients:
Preparation:
Take the dosa batter and add salt to it and mix.
Add chopped onions, chopped green chillies and cumin seeds to this batter and mix.
Take a pan and add oil to it. Once the oil is heated, drop spoonful of batter in the oil. Drop 5-6 balls in the oil together and fry.
Heat the balls on medium flame till they turn light brown in color.
Once done, remove the balls from oil. Drain excess oil by using napkins. Serve them hot and enjoy its taste.
Serving Options:
Serve the delicious punugulu with any chutney of your choice.
