Upma is the popular South Indian breakfast dish. There are many ways in which upma can be prepared. We can also add vegetables and vary the spices. I am here to share the basic form of upma which is easy to prepare. This breakfast is really good for health as it has no fat content. It can be considered as a healthy breakfast item.
Ingredients:
Preparation:
Take a pan to heat and add oil to it. Add chana dal, mustard seeds and cumin seeds. Wait till they pop.
Add onions, green chillies, ginger and curry leaves and fry for 2 mins.
Add water and allow it to boil for 2 mins.
Add the bombay ravva to the boiling water while stirring it. Make sure no lumps are formed.
Cook on medium flame till the upma comes close. Once done, add fried cashewnuts and mix. Remove from heat and serve the tasty upma.
Serving Options:
Serve the upma with any chutney of your choice. It tastes best with groundnut chutney.
