I am back with another sweet recipe. As you all know today was Dussehra and how could it be that I did not make a sweet? Poornam/Sweet Gram Dumplings is a must-to-make sweet at my place during festivals or any special occasions. I have learnt this recipe from my mom and she is an expert in making it. I am sure even you will try this sweet after reading it.
Ingredients:
Preparation:
Boil chana dal till it turns soft. Keep it aside.
Take a blender and add chana dal. Blend it to form a powder. Take it in a bowl.
Mash the jaggery and add it to the chana dal mixture along with cardamom powder and mix it till you get the consistency as shown in the picture below.
Make small balls of the above mix.
Take a pan to heat and add oil to it. Once the oil gets heated, dip the balls in dosa batter and fry it in the oil.
Fry it in low flame for 10 mins.
Remove the balls from heat and drain excess oil using napkins. The poornam/sweet gram dumplings are now ready to be served.
Serving Options:
Serve the delicious poornam with ghee and enjoy it.
Ingredients:
- Chana Dal - 1 cup
- Jaggery - Three-fourth cup
- Cardamom powder / Elaichi powder - Half tablespoon
- Oil - To fry
- Dosa batter - To dip the balls(Click here for the recipe of dosa batter. Please not that for this recipe, the batter has to be thick)
