The festive season is here and how can it be complete without making any sweet dish? When it comes to Indian sweets, the most famous of all is laddoo. Laddoo is an all-time favorite for majority of Indians and of course for people outside India too. You can consider it as Indian version of cookies. Aren't the laddoos tempting? Have a virtual bite and try out this recipe on your own.

Ingredients:
  • Semolina / Suji - 2 cups
  • Sugar - One and half cup
  • Cardamom / Elaichi powder - 1 tablespoon
  • Milk - Half cup
  • Ghee - 2 tablespoons
  • Cashewnuts - 10
  • Raisins - 10

Preparation:

Heat ghee in a pan and add semolina/suji. Saute it till it becomes light brown in color.

Add sugar and cardamom powder. Mix it and allow it to stay for 2 minutes. Remove it from heat and keep it aside. Take another pan and add milk. Once the milk turns hot, add Semolina/Suji mixture.

Keep stirring for 5 minutes till the mixture gets the required consistency as shown below.

Fry the cashewnuts and raisins in ghee and add them to this mix. Remove it from heat and allow it cool. Once cooled, make it into round balls. Serve the delicious Semolina balls.

Serving Options:

Enjoy this festive season with mouth-watering Suji Laddoo / Ravva Laddoo.
