Sago pearls is called as javvarisi in tamil. In South India it is used mainly for making payasam. I wanted to try this pakoda from the sago pearls and it tasted great. This pakoda is simple and easy to make with few ingredients.
Ingredients:
Preparation:
Wash and soak the sago pearls in water for three hours. Chop the onion, ginger, coriander leaves, curry leaves and green chillies.
Drain the water completely from the sago pearls and add the dry ingredients like besan and rice flour. Mix well. Add the chopped onion, chillies, ginger, coriander leaves, curry leaves and required salt. Mix well. Form small lemon sized balls and keep them aside.
Heat oil and add the sago balls to the hot oil and deep fry. Fry till golden brown. Sago pearls pakoda is ready to serve.
Tips:
Soaking of sago is important.
