Semiya/Vermicelli is one of my favourites. I love Bambino vermicelli and the suggested recipes at the back of the beautiful red packets. Recipes with semiya like semiya upma, semiya khichdi, semiya pulao and semiya halwa are made often in our kitchen. Semiya upma comes to rescue when you need to prepare breakfast in less than ten minutes.
Ingredients:
Preparation:
Heat oil in a wok and add mustard seeds, urad dal and bengal gram. Fry till the dals turn golden brown. Then add onions, red chillies and curry leaves. Fry till the onions turn light brown.
Add semiya to it and roast for a minute till semiya changes its colour.
Add water and salt.
Cook till the water evaporates. Delicious vermicelli upma is ready..

- Water - 2 cups
- Onions - 2
- Green Chillies / Red Chillies - 2
- Curry leaves - Few
- Oil - 2 teaspoons
- Salt - As per taste
