Howdy ladies! Hair products should be chosen very carefully, that is what my mom used to tell me. She had long beautiful hair and I always idealized her as my Rapunzel. But then I grew up and it was my turn to play Rapunzel and have long beautiful hair. I soon comprehended after watching the Disney 'Tangled' movie that I am not going to be any where near Rapunzel if I don't look for that "magic herb" or in my case "perfect shampoo". That is how my quest for perfect hair product began and it continues till now. I keep looking for shampoos online and on the store shelves as well. I am reviewing Revlon Aquamarine 2-in-1 Shampoo & Conditioner today which I have looked up online and found it on the shelves of Health & Glow and had to go for it. Read on to know my experience with this exotic looking shampoo.

My Experience With Revlon Aquamarine 2-in-1 Shampoo & Conditioner:
Revlon Aquamarine 2-in-1 Shampoo & Conditioner comes in a translucent white bottle and flip cap. The color of the shampoo reminds me of the sea which is light turquoise and the same shows outside of the bottle making the packaging quiet cute. The fragrance is mild, sweet and gives an impression of an exotic sea holiday resort. The first time I saw it on the store shelves, I had high expectations and I almost believed that this is the "magic herb" which will turn me into Rapunzel. The product said to contain Hypnea Musciformis and Sargassum extracts which when researched I found that it contains sixteen fatty acids indicating strong antibacterial activity.
However, when I used it I observed that the shampoo did not give a clean feeling after wash and weighed down my hair. Not to mention my hair fall was worse than regular days both while using the shampoo and post using the shampoo. The only thing I liked is the fresh fragrance which lasted the whole day in my hair. However, I was pretty disappointed due to oil residues and hair fall. But I decided to give it another chance and used it like a conditioner applying from mid length till the ends. It definitely gave a soft feeling while washing my hair. Again my hair was weighed down and oily after the wash. There was no bounce in my rather wavy and bouncy hair.
I thought it was due to my oily scalp which did not make the shampoo work wonders on me. My husband has normal scalp with a good bounce in his hair and so I made him try it. The shampoo made his hair and scalp very oily too. However, he did not have any hair fall. Hence I concluded that it is the shampoo characteristic to make hair and scalp too oily. I don't know what to do with the huge bottle of this shampoo. I don't use it anymore and have made it into a very expensive hand wash. My quest for a good shampoo still continues and till I finally find it I am just an aspiring Rapunzel waiting for happily-ever-after with a shampoo because I already met my prince.
Pros Of Revlon Aquamarine 2-in-1 Shampoo & Conditioner:
Cons Of Revlon Aquamarine 2-in-1 Shampoo & Conditioner:
Diva Likes Rating:
2.5/5
Final Note:
This shampoo is effective for only hair softening. It might work on people with extremely dry hair. I am not going to buy this shampoo again.

ReplyDeleteI used to use the Revlon Aquamarine Shampoo and Revlon Aquamarine Conditioner when I was a teenager back in the 1980's. The formulas then would clean my oily hair yet not strip it, leaving it clean and soft. I loved the products until Revlon discontinued making them around 1993 or so. Another good shampoo and conditioner was Faberge Wheat Germ Oil & Honey, which I also used happily until they also discontinued. Have never found any good ones in stores since, I only use formulas from Avon now.
