When you lead a busy and stressful life, you want to try and relax as often as possible. It would be great if everyone had the time and money to go to the spa every day for a massage or a facial. Unfortunately, that's just not realistic. But instead of going out to the spa all the time, you can bring the spa to you. It's not hard to set up your own spa at home, and you can even get beauty therapists and massage therapists to visit you. You don't need to have a professional around for this and giving yourself a bit of pampering can do wonders. So create your own private space where you can feel like you're at the spa without leaving the house.
Create a Tranquil Space:
The first thing you need to do is create a space that will help you feel relaxed. Before you do anything else, ban everyone else in the house from coming in. If you can, just send them out of the house too. That way you don't have to listen to anyone moving around while you're trying to sit back and relax. Once you've got some privacy, set the scene with some soft lighting and relaxing music. Candles are a great way to light a room gently, and you can choose some that have a soothing scent too. Pick whatever music helps you to relax - it doesn't have to be whale noises or classical music. If you haven't managed to get everyone to leave the house, the music will help to block them out too.
Get in the Bath:
Before you slip into the tub, have some bath products on hand to help you relax. Some soothing scents will add to the relaxing experience. You can pick some products that will be good for your skin, like an exfoliating body scrub or moisturizing body wash. You can also add moisturizing oils to your bath water. Don't forget the bubbles to make it a luxurious experience. Once you've laid back and relaxed, you can indulge in a few other treatments while you soak. Condition your hair or apply a face mask - who needs to go for facials?
Finishing Up:
When you're ready to get out of the tub, don't rush yourself. You want to remain relaxed instead of ruining all your hard work. Set up your bathrobe and spa slippers for when you get out, and wrap yourself in a big, fluffy towel to get dry. Give yourself a mini massage by rubbing in some moisturizing body lotion and perhaps even using a handheld massager or you can get someone to help you out!
To finish off, treat yourself to a coat of nail polish on your fingers and toes. You might even want to do your makeup and style your hair for a full makeover experience. Try to set time aside to do this regularly. Do relax yourself every once in a while with your own spa experience!
