I don't think that there's any person who doesn't sometimes feel as though they are a little lacking in the self-esteem department. We all have days where we don't particularly like what we see when we look in the mirror. The important thing to remember is that these feelings are completely normal. So, we mustn't let them take over and stop us from enjoying our life. We do understand, however, that this is sometimes far easier said than done. So, to help give you a little head start, we've compiled three top tips that'll have you feeling fabulous, sparkling self in no time.

1. When it comes to improving your self-esteem, it's always best to start with the basics. So, if you've been feeling a little down in the dumps off late, it's time to say goodbye to the old you by giving yourself a makeover! Flick through your favorite glossy magazine and pick out at least three haircuts that you like, and think would suit you.
Be brave and be spontaneous, don't just stick to the same haircut that you've been sporting for the last two years. If your budget will stretch that far you could even consider going for a new hair color. Now that'll really shake things up! Not only are makeovers fun, but they're also a way of helping you to feel better about your appearance.

2. If you happen to work in an office all day, and your work mostly consists of sitting at a desk, it can be difficult to find the motivation, as well as the time, to exercise. But the reality is that exercise is one of the easiest and most effective ways of improving your self-esteem. Of course, it can help you to lose weight, which can makes a massive difference to how you look.
But exercise not only gives you the psychological buzz of knowing that you're actively trying to improve your health, as well as your appearance but also causes an actual physiological high. Exercise prompts the brain to release endorphins, which are the body's very own 'feel-good' chemicals. This promotes feelings of happiness, euphoria and general well-being. So, if you feel that your self-esteem could do with a boost, then we would strongly suggest looking into joining your local gym or an exercise class.

3. Sometimes the cause of our self-esteem issues may be a little more deep-rooted, and isn't a problem that can be corrected with a new haircut or change of job. If there's something about your appearance that makes you deeply unhappy, and this has gone on for a long period of time, chances are your feelings aren't going to change. It may be a birthmark that stops you wearing skirts because it makes you feel too self-conscious. Perhaps you broke your nose as a child and don't like its crooked appearance. In which case a nose job by Dr. Frankel or other surgical procedure, might just be the answer to your problems.
