I have been too busy past 3 weeks due to my 5th semester exams and it was as hectic as it could be. The sleepless nights, stressful days, tough papers and gigantic syllabus, it was like a dreadful nightmare for me. I am glad it's all over now and I am back in action again. Before my exams started, I did some online shopping haul of skincare, cosmetics, and accessories. I am planning to share my experience with you all about it in the coming days. In fact, I have some fanatic eye makeup tutorials which I will be sharing here. Today, I am here with the review of an acne corrector gel from VLCC. When I bought it long ago, my skin was spotless and it was just a casual impulsive buy. Thanks to the exam days, my acne free skin is now full of pimples and I really don't know how it happened! I assume it is due to the lack of skin care routine and season change, both of which took a toll on my skin. Let's see how this acne corrector did its work!
About VLCC 3 Day Acne Corrector:
Enriched with Clove and Spearmint Oil, known for its anti-bacterial and anti-microbial properties that purify and cleanse the skin from within to prevent outbreak and recurrence of pimples. Menthol has deodorizing properties which revitalize the skin. Additionally, this contains Salicylic Acid, which accelerates pimples drying out. Anti-bacterial properties of Salicylic Acid clear acne by controlling excess oil secretion thereby preventing the occurrence of acne.
Price:
79 INR for 9 ml
Shelf Life:
3 years
Ingredients List:
Clove Oil, Spearmint Oil, Menthol, Salicylic Acid, Pionin Potassium, Azeloyl Diglycinate.
Directions For Use:
Step 1: Squeeze a small amount directly onto the pimple and other imperfections.
Step 2: Smoothen the gel with a finger tip until absorbed.
My Experience With VLCC 3 Day Acne Corrector:
The small tube of this acne corrector comes inside a cardboard box. It has a matt silver screw cap with a nozzle tip mouth. The tube is relatively small and lightweight which makes it easier to carry around. It is basically a corrector gel for acne which you have to apply on the concerned area. There's a strong smell of menthol and clove which might not be appealing to some. I have somehow made peace with it. I had some acne which was fully grown and some of them were sprouting slowly. On the application, there is a slight tingling sensation due to the menthol and clove. I used to apply the gel at least thrice a day post washing my face. The gel immediately stops the pimple from getting any worse and from the second day itself the redness slightly reduces.
I would not say that the pimples vanished within three days, but the size becomes relatively small with regular usage. There were a few spots where I noticed the appearance of acne and after using this gel, they stopped further. On application, the gel looks like a oily film on top of the skin and takes a lot of time to get absorbed even after blending. Some people may find it irritating. After 3-4 days, I noticed that the acne affected areas are relatively dry and there was dry thin skin. That is when I realized that the gel just makes the pimple dry and tries to minimize it. The gel worked okay for me. I wouldn't call it a miracle, but I am satisfied with the results.
Pros Of VLCC 3 Day Acne Corrector:
Cons Of VLCC 3 Day Acne Corrector:
Diva Likes Rating:
3.5/5
Final Note:
Overall, I am satisfied with this product as it prevents the devilish acne problem on my skin. If you want to reduce the redness and make the pimples dry, do try the gel but don't expect a miracle!
