There are so many brands I am dying to try out but unfortunately they hardly have a store in my city Kolkata. Even if they have, they lack in storing the newly launched products. I finally discovered a Bourjois Paris store in Quest Mall last month and I bought my favorite eyeshadow which I have been longing since eternity. I am very fond of browns and earthy colors as I feel they define my eyes pretty well. Also, I find it a quick alternative to bold dark black. I was in search for a darkest matte brown for a long time but whatever I spotted had shimmers or glitter in them and thereby lost all hopes until I spotted this beauty. Though I haven't yet tried anything from this brand, I heard quite good reviews about it. So let's see if the product is good enough to match up to its reputation or not.

Price:
575 INR for 1 g
Shelf Life:
18 months
Ingredients List:
Not mentioned
Directions For Use:
When you first apply the pigment to your eyelid, pat the eyeshadow on rather than brushing it across your lid. Use short, slow brush strokes going in the same direction to blend colors. It can also be used as a wet eyeshadow.
My Experience With Bourjois Paris Intense Extrait Eyeshadow 09:
Packaging: The eyeshadow comes in a little round pot with a lid that has a magnetic lock system. It has a round little mirror attached inside the case but without an applicator. Although applicators are hardly useful, I feel they are good for touch ups. I would not call it a travel-friendly packaging, but it is sturdy and well framed.
Shade: The color is a deep matte brown with dark coffee undertones. It is an excellent choice when you don't want to go for bold black. For a day time soft smokey looks, the color works as a wonder! The color can be an alternative choice for filling your brows as well. I was exactly looking for this kind of brown so I am extremely happy with the color. The color looks great on eyes when wore as a wet eyeshadow as well.
Texture: The texture of the eyeshadow is soft and smooth as velvet. I hardly had any fallout while using it and it blends on my eyelids without any extra effort. The color can be worked in a various ways by blending it properly.
Pigmentation: The eyeshadow has an awesome pigmentation and with just one swipe you can get a lot of coverage. Layering the color gives an even intense look to the eyes. I am super happy with the pigmentation of the color.
Staying Power: The color, though powdery, stays on the lids for a long time for around 4-5 hours and then start creasing and fading. I hardly use a primer nowadays, so I believe with primer it would last a longer duration. The claim of 16 hours is false though.
Dupe: The eyeshadow is the closest dupe of Mac Embark which is a dark matte brown with reddish undertones and the Bourjois eyeshadow looks a bit intense as it has dark coffee undertones.
This eyeshadow, when first launched in India, was 410 INR for 1 g but within a short span it has increased the price at a whopping rate. But after experiencing the quality I believe it is worth the price I am paying for as I was exactly looking for this particular shade.
Pros Of Bourjois Paris Intense Extrait Eyeshadow 09:
Cons Of Bourjois Paris Intense Extrait Eyeshadow 09:
Diva Likes Rating:
4.5/5
Final Note:
The price I pay for the product is really worth it. This series also provides a variety of well-pigmented shades to try out. As far as this one is concerned, I am definitely going to repurchase because of the beautiful brown shade.
