Red is never out of fashion. This versatile classic color can be paired with almost any outfit and that is where the beauty of the color lies. However, choosing the right kind of red for you is the big task. Today, I am here to review a my-kind-of-red nail paint from Elle 18. All of us are aware of the brand for its cute pocket-friendly products. I actually spotted this red nail paint from my friend's collection and I knew that I have to get my hands on it. So here's my detailed review on the nail lacquer.
About Elle 18 Nail Pops Shade 69:
With so many shades of nail colors to choose from there's one for every mood and occasion. From dazzling reds to pretty pinks, electric blues, pastel mauves and tangy oranges.
Price:
55 INR for 5 ml
Shelf Life:
36 months
Directions For Use:
Shake well and apply three coats. Finish off with a top coat.
My Experience With Elle 18 Nail Pops Shade 69:
Packaging: The nail lacquer comes in a small little round glass pot with a black screw cap that has the applicator attached. The glass is a bit thick and survives little falls as well. The packaging is light-weighted and hence it is very travel-friendly.
Shade: The red color is extremely bold and pretty with orange undertones. The color looks vibrant on fair skin and also it compliments dusky skin tones well. It is an ideal bridal color too.
Applicator Brush: The applicator brush, unlike other variants of its family, is difficult to apply. Though the streaks can be avoided but it forms a lot of bubbles that you would notice in the swatches. It is very difficult to apply the color to long nails though the short nails can be managed. Moreover, the bristles are a bit poky and uneven. All in all, I am not too happy with the brush.
Texture: The nail polish, when I first bought it months ago had thin consistency and settled into a glossy finish. When I applied the same few days back, I noticed that within a span of few months it has thickened. So, it becomes a bit problematic to apply in a hurry.
Pigmentation: The pigmentation is decently good. Two coats are required for even and opaque finish. You can also apply the third coat for deeper color.
Staying Power: The staying power without any base or top coat is 2-3 days and with base or top coat it can survive up to 5-6 days. For the price, I would say that the staying power is fine with a top coat.
Dupes Available: OPI A Roll in the Hague, Zoya Maura, Maybelline Color Show Keep up the Flame.
Pros Of Elle 18 Nail Pops Shade 69:
Cons Of Elle 18 Nail Pops Shade 69:
Diva Likes Rating:
2.5/5
Final Note:
The color is undoubtedly pretty good, but the cons are too much to take. Well, if you like the color and want to wear it for a day or two, this is good. Otherwise, this can be a miss.
