When you love makeup products to the core, it is heavenly to receive cosmetics as gifts. I recently turned a year older and a very close friend of mine chose to gift me a wonderful eye palette from Lakme. Well, she is a person who actually has never used kohl in her whole life; forget about applying makeup! So receiving such a beauty from her end was like a massive surprise! My crazy love for makeup was definitely not unknown to her and she had been planning this gift for a month. It is an eye quartet from Lakme 9 to 5 range which is called Tanjore Rush. In all excitement, I immediately wore these colors for a party and few daytime looks. So, here's my take on the product.
About Lakme 9 To 5 Eye Color Quartet Tanjore Rush:
These versatile quartets of vivid, high-intensity powders give your eyes a defined, fierce finish. The radiant color and shimmer particles shape and highlight your eyes to give you that professional edge. Use the lighter shades for office wear and darker shades for your night look. Feel free to mix the shades to create new looks every day.

Step 3: Mix 2 or more shades to create a new look.
My Experience With Lakme 9 To 5 Eye Color Quartet Tanjore Rush:
Packaging: The eye quartet comes in a square plastic box with a transparent lid. It is easier to track the palette when you have more than one in your kitty. There's no mirror attached; only a mere double sided applicator in the box. The applicator can be used for patting the eyeshadow over the crease and for mild touch ups. It is definitely not the best out there but good for emergencies. The quartet is travel-friendly, but you have to carry a mirror as well.
Shades: The 9 to 5 range is suited for office purpose and daytime looks mostly. However, this particular palette is quite an exception. The colors are quite bright and have a flavor of festive in them and all of them are metallic. Let's see the colors in detail.
Gold: It is a metallic bright yellowish gold and will very much suit Indian skin tones. Most gold colors appear slightly chalky on the eyelids as I have seen, but this one is an exception. It appears like a perfect gold for parties and bridal makeup.
Brown: It is quite a different brown I have seen so far. To describe the color, I would say that it is a metallic deep rose gold with brown undertones. The color can be worn singularly all over the lids with eyeliner, kohl or winged liner for a soft daytime look. The color can also be merged for bridal looks.
Green: It is a metallic deep olive green with a golden sheen to it. It is a beautiful color that would compliment a wide range of skin tones for achieving different looks.
Purple: It is a metallic amethyst purple. In fact, it is the brightest and darkest color of the quartet. The color can be worn alone all over the lid as well as can be paired with a light color to blend in.
Overall, the color choices are totally apt for festive looks. The only thing that strikes me is that the palette lacks some fundamental shades. For example, the gold color is strong for highlighting the brow bone and hence a highlighter was required. Secondly, one requires a transition matte or any light color to blend out the color towards the crease. Thirdly, a basic black color is absent. So, except for these few drawbacks, it is quite a nice festive palette to possess.
Pigmentation: All the four colors were evenly pigmented. The swatches I have taken are without any primer but still the color showed up beautiful in the darkest hue. On pigmented eyelids too, the color comes out beautifully especially when layered to achieve a dark look.
Texture: The texture is smooth, velvety and blends out heavenly. The color needs to be patted first to adhere to the base and then it should be blended. In this way, the fallout is extremely minimal and a clean eye makeup look can be achieved.
Staying Power: The eyeshadow remained on my eyelids for 5-6 hours even when I was out in the sun for 4 hours. On oily lids, it might start creasing post 4 hours without primer. With a base or primer underneath, the color goes a long way.
I never knew that Lakme actually has such a beautiful quartet with such amazing quality. The price is justified by the quality. This is an amazing palette with basic festive shades to explore.
Pros Of Lakme 9 To 5 Eye Color Quartet Tanjore Rush:
Cons Of Lakme 9 To 5 Eye Color Quartet Tanjore Rush:
Diva Likes Rating:

Final Note:
If you want to own a festive palette without pinching the pocket, I would advise you to go for this. This quartet is just amazing with great quality. It is definitely a must have for eye makeup lovers.
