With the temperature touching 40 almost every day, it is really painful to step outside during the daytime. Away from that, I am back with the review of a lip gloss from Nivea. Personally, I am not much of a gloss girl as I prefer matte lip colors most of the times but there are always certain occasions where gloss has an extra impact on the overall look. It makes your pout look fuller and adds a touch of a glam factor to it. This lip gloss was more of an impulse buy as I found the pink packaging quite eye-catching. It has been few months since I have been using this gloss and here's my take on the product.
About Nivea Glamorous Gloss Pink Sugar:
The high-gloss formula of NIVEA Lip Care Glamorous Gloss Pink Sugar gives a blush of pink and adds glamor and gloss to your lips. Ultra-shine pigments give your lips a brilliant glow while shea butter and vitamin E join forces to moisturize your lips, whether during the day or for that special night out.
How it works:
Beautifies your lips with stunning brilliance thanks to pink ultra-shine pigments.
Delights your senses with an exotic fruity scent.
Provides long lasting care without sticky feeling.
Contains SPF 15, protection against UVA and UVB rays.
Price:
139 INR for 8.5 ml
Shelf Life:
12 months
Ingredients List:
Shea Butter, Vitamin E, Hydramine, Grape Seed Extract.
Directions For Use:
Apply the gloss with the help of a lip brush or directly slather over the lips from the slated tip of the tube.
My Experience With Nivea Glamorous Gloss Pink Sugar:
Would you believe if I say that I simply bought the gloss for the cute appealing packaging? Well, it's true. The lip gloss comes in a sweet pinkish opaque tube with a slanted tip and translucent screw cap. The slanted tip helps application on the go, although a slanted wand would have been more preferred given the texture.
Contrary to its name, the gloss is a semi-translucent peach gloss loaded with micro shimmers. On my lips, it looks like a super shiny layer of gloss with slight hints of peach. On pigmented lips, the peach color would not show up but will only provide a layer of shine and gloss. The texture of the gloss is slightly thicker than any regular gloss which some people may find a bit uncomfortable. The moisturization provided by the lip gloss is great and it hydrates the lips even after the gloss wears off.
During harsh winters, I used to apply the gloss alone on the lips and despite having flaky lips, it worked wonderfully for my lips and softened it for a long time. Due to its sticky and thick nature, the gloss transfers easily on the cups and crockery which I find slightly disgusting. It has a sweet fruity smell which is neither strong nor soft and lasts until the gloss is on the lips. The gloss is great when applied over a lip color as it hardly bring any change to the lip color and only puts up a flimsy layer of shine on the lips. It gives a fuller look to the lips as well. With SPF 15, it is ideal to use in summers as it provides protection to the lips. The staying power of the gloss is 2-3 hours with snacks or light drinks in between, but it is incapable of surviving heavy meals. Overall, it is a pocket-friendly gloss that provides immense shine with reasonable price tag.
Pros Of Nivea Glamorous Gloss Pink Sugar:
Cons Of Nivea Glamorous Gloss Pink Sugar:
Diva Likes Rating:
3.5/5
Final Note:
It is an affordable gloss ideal for regular use. I love the shiny part where it makes my lips look fuller and has a fruity smell. So if you're a fan of high shimmers, give it a try once.
