From Deepika Padukone's oxblood lips to Aishwariya Rai Bachchan's wine lips at Cannes 2015, rich bold colors have been quite the trend during the fall. I was always an MLBB lip girl and hardly experimented with lip colors. So, it was a wonderful opportunity for me to try out dark lip colors when DivaLikes sent me 5 glorious lipsticks from Coloressence. Coloressence has some variety in reds and browns for Indian skin tones and it was really interesting to play with the colors all together. The shade I am going to review today isn't for the faint-hearted and is an awesome experiment for me as well. Curious? Let's see the review in detail.

My Experience With Coloressence Mesmerizing Lip Color Moods in Maroon:
Packaging: The lipstick comes in a matte black packaging with a silver strip to it and the brand name inscribed on it. The shade name is written on the bottom along with the number. Overall, it is a simple sturdy travel-friendly packaging with no hassle.
Shade: The shade moods in maroon is pure dark wine with reddish undertones with a golden sheen to it. The golden sheen isn't visible much when it comes to the application. The color will suit both cool and warm tones easily. It is definitely a fall color and has a very rich and bold presence to it. Once worn, the color draws complete attention to the lips and hence the rest of the makeup should be kept neutral. Personally, this is my first deep wine shade as I never had the confidence to wear the color but all I can say is I am loving this to the core.
Texture: It is a bit tricky to describe. It is creamy enough to glide on the lips easily but over the time it starts drying the lips a lot. Therefore, proper moisturization is required. Moreover, it happens to accentuate dry flakes and fine lines, therefore, it is advisable to scrub the dry layers properly.
Pigmentation: In one word, it is remarkable. With a single swipe, it gives you the desired rich color and once you start building layers the color gets richer with a dark hue. Surprisingly, the color doesn't bleed even if you don't wear a lip liner underneath.
Staying Power: The color stays on my lips for a good 3+ hours with small bites in between. Eventually, it starts drying and becomes patchy if there is no lip liner underneath. I would say it has a decent staying power, but it could have been better.
Overall, this is a budget-friendly bold deep wine color if you want to experiment with your looks. The quality is decent as far as the price is concerned. The lipstick is a close shade of Mac Diva and L'Oreal Paris Collection Star Red Lipstick Pure Garnet.
Pros Of Coloressence Mesmerizing Lip Color Moods in Maroon:
Cons Of Coloressence Mesmerizing Lip Color Moods in Maroon:
Diva Likes Rating:
4/5
Final Note:
Personally, this is my first deep wine shade as I never had the confidence to wear the color but all I can say is I am loving this to the core. I always wanted to try out this color but both Mac and L'Oreal are priced sky-high and I didn't want to splurge for an experiment. So if you want a cost-effective deep wine lip color, grab this right now.
