Hello, everyone! I have used the Maybelline Colossal Kajal few years back and it was quite a favorite of mine for a long time. Maybelline, continuing their new launches, came out with the Maybelline Colossal Super Black Kajal few months back. I am always a fan of deep and dark kohls and absolutely adore the rich effect it gives to the eyes. Be it for a daily wear or any special occasion, I always stick to the deep kohl eyes look with subtle matte lips. Having used the kajal for a week now, here's my review on the newest launch.
About Maybelline Colossal Super Black Kajal:
New Maybelline Colossal Kajal Super Black – It gives you a 2X blacker look in one smooth stroke that stays intense for up to 16 hours! Here's why you'll love it: – 2X Blacker and Bolder – 16 Hour Intense. – Suitable for sensitive eyes and contact lens users.
Price:
300 INR for 0.35 g
Shelf Life:
30 months

My Experience With Maybelline Colossal Super Black Kajal:
Packaging: Maybelline Colossal Super Black Kajal comes in a yellow and black cardboard packaging. It is in the form of a twist up retractable pencil and ensures there is no wastage of product as you won't have to sharpen it. The cap shuts quickly and the packaging works perfectly fine and is great for traveling too. I simply wished they could have chosen a brighter color other than black.
Shade & Pigmentation: The shade of the kajal is noir black but I wouldn't call it a deeper and bolder version of the previous Colossal one. When I swatched both of them, I found absolutely no difference at all. The pigmentation is good but nothing extraordinary. When compared with my Amway Attitude Kajal (which is the deepest pitch black kajal I have ever used), I found the Super Black average.
Texture: The texture is soft and glides well on the eyes. The Super Black gives a matte finish but doesn't have the dry and crumbling feeling on the eyes. It applies smoothly on the sensitive area of the eyes and doesn't need to tug and pull. Also, the kajal is suitable for sensitive eyes and contact lens users and never caused any kind of irritation or burning sensation when applied. It dries off every fast and is slightly difficult to have that smoky effect.
Formula: The formula isn't anything better. The kajal is indeed waterproof and doesn't budge if you splash water. However, it has the weird tendency to budge, spread and fade with time. I wore this to college and noticed the artificial formation of dark circles after 4 hours. Even the Colossal never smudged after 4 hours and hence the formula is a complete dud for me.
Staying Power: The staying power of the kajal on the eyelids is around 7-8 hours even in summers but on the waterline, it smudges very badly after 4 hours giving you the virtual dark circles. Hence, the kajal is surely not worth the money and I would stick on to the previous version of Colossal.
Pros Of Maybelline Colossal Super Black Kajal:
Cons Of Maybelline Colossal Super Black Kajal:
Diva Likes Rating:
2.5/5
Final Note:
I am thoroughly disappointed with this one and I would not recommend this kajal to any other person. If you want a decent kajal within 200 bucks, Maybelline Colossal Kajal is still a better option than this one.
