Hello, everyone! Hope you all are doing well. Moving forward with the hottest lipsticks in my collection – Maybelline Color Show Big Apple Red Creamy Matte series, I am going to review the shade 'Big Apple Red'. The shade is named after the range which is a bit weird to me. Having gone through the whole collection, I noticed that most of the shades are very similar to each other. I would have preferred a bit more different reds in the whole range. Nevertheless, as an individual lipstick, the quality is great. Read on to know more about it.

My Experience With Maybelline Color Show Big Apple Red Creamy Matte Lipstick Big Apple Red:
Packaging: The Color Show Big Apple Red Creamy Matte Lipstick comes in a matte black casing with a twist up packaging. The body of the lipstick isn't color coded but the name of the shade and number are written on the bottom. The cap shuts with a click and the whole packaging is quite travel-friendly. The size of the lipstick is also small and easily slips into the bag or wallet. Overall, I found the packaging simple and sweet.
Shade: The shade 'Big Apple Red' is hot tomato red color with neutral undertones. On my warm toned skin tones, it comes across as a decent tomato red. The color isn't bright or bold but just the right amount of red. Thus, you can wear it for daytime as well as nighttime. It also goes well with a number of outfits, provided you keep the eye makeup subtle.
Pigmentation: The pigmentation is good but not great. You do require a certain number of swipes to bring the color to the lips in full intensity. However, when swiped multiple times, it does cover up minor pigmentation and discoloration on my lips. To wear the color in full saturation, I would advise going for a lip liner for better results.
Texture: The texture of the lipstick is creamy soft and glides really well on the lips. Matte lipsticks are generally unforgiving to the dry lips but this one feels comfortable. All you need is well-scrubbed lips and it will not accentuate on fine lines or stick onto the dry patches. The color also applies evenly and you don't need a lip balm underneath to have the hydration.
Formula: The formula of the lipstick is creamy and the finish is satin matte. Thus, it retains a nice sheen on the lips. To make it look matte, you have to dab a tissue or powder to take away the shine. Also, the lipstick transfers a lot to cups and spoons which I really dislike and that is the sole reason I avoid creamy lip colors. Nevertheless, I always dab a tissue to fix the problem.
Staying Power: The lip color stayed on my lips for around 5 hours and that also depends a lot on the food and fluid intake. After heavy meals, it tends to disappear from the lower lip especially and thus you need to retouch a bit. However, the color fades off with a nice reddish tint on the lips and requires an oil based makeup remover to remove it completely.

The color Big Apple Red is a nice shade of red. If you can't handle to brightness and boldness of certain colors, then this is the pick for you.
