Cake eyeliner? How good does it sound? I was very much intrigued with cake eyeliners. I found the concept of wetting the brush and defining the eyes very different and new. Finally my wait to try this eyeliner was over when Lavanya sent this to me from Aplava site. So let's read further to know whether its uniqueness is yay or nay.

Use it with wet eyeliner brush to define the eyes.
My Experience With Coloressence Cake Eyeliner CE-2 Tourquish Blue:
Packaging: The cake eyeliner comes in a round black plastic pot. It has a matte black body with transparent see through screw lid with 'Coloressence' written on the lid. The packaging is not that eye-catchy but it's easy to carry around, light-weight and quite compressed. The screw lid is tad flimsy though, I am afraid the screw lid might just break or crack if hard pressed. Another glitch with this is that it doesn't come with an eyeliner brush, so if you are someone who doesn't have a brush, you might have to buy the brush in order to use it. I fall in that category of not having a brush, so I tried to go the Q-tip way.
Shade: The colour is gorgeous turquoise blue. It looks pretty sitting on the dressing table. The see through lid makes it even more colourful. The colour looks more greenish on the eyes, may be because of the effect of wetting the brush and then applying the colour. Probably, mixing it just nullifies the blue colour.
Texture: The texture is powdery and very smooth. Its matte and has no sheen whatsoever. It's easily blendable, so I use it more as an eyeshadow than as eyeliner. It's a perfect colour for eyeshadow or to top it over some base (could use a blue kajal). It glides smoothly and doesn't become patchy on layering and after setting, it dries to a matte finish, but it does transfer on the socket area.
Pigmentation: The pigmentation is quite nice. It does show up on my waterline, which scores a brownie point. It doesn't irritate the eyes as well. We have to be careful in wetting the brush because too much water can completely mess with the shade. But the color is buildable with little hard work especially if you are using it as eyeliner.
Staying Power: This stays on me for about 4-5 hours on upper eyelids. It stayed on lower lashline for about 2 hours and I am pretty happy with that because nothing stays on my lower lashline anyway for 1-2 hours. Though it's water-resistant, it is not 100 percent smudge-proof. After some time; it smudges from lower lashline and settles on the crease lines, which is so messy. It even fades off if we rub our eyes with our fingers and leaves behind a bluish stain on eyes after removing the eyeliner.
Pros Of Coloressence Cake Eyeliner CE-2 Tourquish Blue:
Cons Of Coloressence Cake Eyeliner CE-2 Tourquish Blue:
3/5
Final Note:
I would say it's a good affordable eye shadow. As eyeliner, I am not happy with its formula because nobody has time and patience to perfect the liner by wetting the brush every time using it. So for me, it's not a go to eyeliner for everyday use. For occasions, I might use it as an eye shadow only. We have other colored kajals available in the market which are nearly similar to this shade.

The concept of cake eyeliner is interesting but sad it didn't turn out great.
