Hello, everyone. Kohls, colored kohls, mascara, eyeliner, eyeshadow – just name any eye makeup product and it makes go weak on my knees. I can never get enough of it and I experiment a lot. To continue my streak of eyeliner collection, I picked up the Maybelline Colossal Kohl Crushed Emerald sometime in the beginning of the year. I absolutely forgot to review it until I saw Sonia's review on the Jeweled Jade. Needlessly to say, the Colossal Kohl's (colored) are one of my favorites and here's my detailed review on the same.

My Experience With Maybelline Colossal Kohl Crushed Emerald:
Packaging: Maybelline Colossal Kohl Crushed Emerald has a very similar packaging with that of the original Colossal Black Kajal. It comes in a bright yellow mechanical pencil form with the twist up function and a cap that shuts with a click. There is no need to sharpen the pencil as the pencil has a retractable form and which is why I love it the most as I hate wastage of such a beautiful color. Now, the outer packaging isn't there which is a bit of a concern because there are a lot of fake dupes of Maybelline products in the market. Therefore make sure you buy from authentic shops and online sites. Overall, in packaging, the brand has done a good job.
Shade: The shade Crushed Emerald lives up to its name – the color is a deep rich emerald green with a sheen on it. The sheen it imparts is due to the presence of frosty particles in it but they do not look chunky glittery at all. The shine it imparts is very subtle and this is what makes the color stand out. The green looks rich, beautiful and excellent for any eye makeup. In fact, the color looks great on Indian skin tones. I have used it as a kajal, eyeliner, eyeshadow and base makeup and I have to say that I am in love with it.
Pigmentation: The shade is well pigmented. On the eyelids and lower lash line, it delivers a wonderful saturated color with simple 1-2 swipes. However, on the water line, the pigmentation is little laid back and you have to swipe multiple times to bring out the color properly. You can also use a dash of black kohl first and then apply this color to have a darkened effect.
Texture: The texture of the kajal is rich and creamy. It glides on the eyes very smoothly without anything tugging or pulling at all. The kajal has a frosty sheen as I said before but there is no roughness on the texture at all. It is enriched with the goodness of nourishing ingredients and vitamin E and thus feels light weight. However, it is creamy but not super gliding at all. Thus if you are going to smudge it for a smoky look, you better do it quickly as it sets in a jiff. It dries off but it will never crumble on the eyes at all. Overall, the texture is great for the price you are paying.
Formula: The kajal is both waterproof and smudge proof. This is what I always want in every kajal. I have washed my face but this one never moved or seeped down. It only smudges on the inner corners of the eyes as I have watery eyes. Also, the smudge-proof formula is excellent and thus it won't ruin your eye makeup at all. Formula wise also, this is a winner.
Staying Power: Maybelline Colossal Kohl Crushed Emerald stayed on my eyes for 6 hours and on the water line, for around 3 hours after that it fades off. The staying power is great and the sheen also stays for a long time without flaking off or cracking in between. The overall product has a reasonable price and since I bought it during a sale, I feel I got an awesome deal.

Final Note:
Maybelline Colossal Kohl Crushed Emerald is a perfect festival rich green with a sheen on it that glides smoothly giving a nice pigmented look. It is also waterproof and smudge proof. The price is absolutely justified and surely one of the best budget friendly colored kohls in the market.
