Hello, girls! It's monsoon here in my city, and I am loving it. Finally some respite from hot and humid climate. With all the goodness comes a major concern which is the monsoon ready makeup. It's not a good idea to succumb to nature and sport barefaced look. So if nothing else, I prefer to at least wear a tinted lip balm and a kajal. Of course, kajal has to be smudge proof and waterproof to bear the tantrums thrown at us by the weather. So let's talk about this kajal eyeliner pencil from Revlon which I have got from Aplava site sent by Lavanya. Let us see if this kajal is monsoon ready or not.

My Experience With Revlon Kohl Kajal Eyeliner Pencil 011 Black:
Packaging: It is a wooden black sharpenable pencil having a plastic black cap. The brand name and other details are embedded in the stick with golden letters. It's a simple, easy to carry the pencil and there is nothing fancy about the packaging. The pencil would last long because it is 1.14 g which is a good amount in comparison to other kajal's in the market. It has got a sharpener free which has Revlon written on it as well, though it would have been easy if the sharpener is attached to the cap because it's quite a possibility to lose this tiny weeny sharpener.
Shade: The shade is deep intense matte black color. I really love the dark color; it intensifies the look and makes your eyes look really bold and dramatic. It makes your eyes stand out if you are going with minimal makeup look.
Texture: The texture is soft and smooth. It glides effortlessly on the lids without tugging or pulling. Being matte, it's not dry at all. Even without stretching your eyes you can apply this kajal. It's a boon in this regard because I know stretching causes wrinkles and crow's feet which I dread.
Pigmentation: I have to give full marks to it in this aspect. It's something to die for. In just one swipe, you get an impeccable color pay off. It is a gorgeous matte color which intensifies with 2-3 more swipes. The intensity can be seen even on the waterline where other kajal's have failed to even glide on waterline let alone giving the color. This kajal is best to give you those gothic eyes yet not scary.
Staying Power: As I said earlier, with all the goodness comes a major concern, yes, this is what I was talking about. It stayed on my upper eyelids for about 5-6 hours, and on lower lashline, it started to smudge within an hour of application. This happened when I applied it and stayed at home the entire time. I did not face any hot and humid climate. So its claim of working best in both hot and humid climate fall flat. I am sorry, it doesn't stick to it at all. If it cannot survive the air-conditioned indoors, I do not dare to step out wearing this outdoors. It is easily smudged; just touching the kajal with your fingers will wipe it off a bit (you can see in the swatches).
Another issue with this is that it's not waterproof. Since they haven't claimed it to be one, I have no complaints here but we all look for waterproof kajal, don't we? So it is definitely not for monsoons, and if by chance you get drenched or splash water on your face to get refreshed, then please be ready for raccoon eyes. Your bold gothic look will surely turn into a scary gothic look. So carry tissues or cotton in such emergency situations.

Final Note:
It's a good black kajal. I love it for its intensity and dark black color. If you want to apply kajal for one hour or so, then it works fine. Otherwise, it starts to bleed. I personally don't like to keep wiping away the kajal from my lower lashline every now and then. I can still think of applying it on my upper eyelids.
