I am mad about matte! Well, you guys already know that. The trend of matte nail paints was already ruling the beauty industry in the west and slowly scattering over Indian market as well. Sadly, there aren't many brands with a matte finish (L'Oréal has a matte top coat but then I didn't find it very 'matte'). Well, and then suddenly all the brands started with the matte finish nail color and I knew I had to pick one at least. First I saw Nykaa launching 12 matte shades (199 INR), also Colorbar came out with their matte colors (300 INR) and Revlon (180 INR) too. Now, I am a little greedy when it comes to matte and thus I wanted all my nail colors as matte. Single colors are slightly expensive when you are going to buy a bunch but when I discovered Sally Hansen Big Matte Top Coat, my happiness knew no bounds! Unfortunately, it was out of stock for weeks and finally when I got the subscription mail, I placed my order immediately. Well, now that you guys know the history behind it, let's get on with the review.

My Experience With Sally Hansen Big Matte Top Coat:
Packaging: Sally Hansen Big Matte Top Coat comes in a rectangular shaped thick walled glass bottle with a black screw cap. The screw cap has an applicator attached to apply the coat. The bottle is transparent and you can easily identify the translucent liquid filled in it. For the price I am paying, the amount is perfect and will last me a long time. It is great to carry around and will not spill at all. Also, it is light weight. The applicator is perfect to spread the liquid on nails and overall, I am extremely happy with the packaging.
Shade: It is a top coat so the word 'shade' isn't very appropriate for this. But, coming to the matte formula, it is an absolute stunner. In the swatches, I wore the nail polish Colorbar Nail Lacquer Blooming Magenta and you can see how glossy and shiny the nail polish is. Now, the moment I apply the top coat, it gives an instant matte top to the nails. You can see that in the comparison pic below. The color looks exquisitely classy and fabulous on the nails.
Texture: The top coat has the medium consistency – neither thin nor thick. So it is easy to work with on the nails. Now, the liquid dries off very quickly – like within 5 to 8 seconds. So while applying make sure you are covering the opening of the bottle to prevent it from drying up for future use. Once the nail lacquer dries, it gives a soft velvet kind of finish and pure matte. No matter what kind of nail polish you use, it will turn it to matte, giving a gorgeous classy finish to the nails. Also, while choosing a nail color, make sure you are going for a streak free finish. If there are streaks or bubbles, the top coat looks slightly unflattering. Do not go over and over again with the top coat because a single even coat will give you the perfect finish.
Staying Power: The top coat is itself very long lasting and also helps your manicure last long on the nails too. My nail color was intact for 6 days, although the matte top looked slightly dull and uneven sort of from the 5th day. However, I only noticed chipping from the 7th day so I would say, this is surely long lasting. For the price you are paying, Sally Hansen surely gives an awesome matte finish to the nails and will not dry out the nails as well.

Final Note:
If you are investing in a colored matte nail polish, it will cost you but investing in Sally Hansen Big Matte Top Coat is the smartest choice you can make. I have been wearing this non-stop ever since I got my hands on it and so far tried with 6-7 nails colors. I would highly recommend this amazing top coat and will surely repurchase once I am done with this beauty.
