Elle 18 Color Boost Lipstick Coral Nude Review

Ever since Elle 18 launched their super reasonable lipsticks at a price of 150 INR, I wanted to grab a few and try them. They have different ranges of lipsticks like Color Burst, Color Pops, and Color Boost. I gave Color Boost lipsticks a try, being little skeptical, I chose to buy only one shade from this range to test it. I preferred to pick Coral Nude shade which is like everyday wear color. So let's hop on to the review.

Define your lip shape with liner. Fill in your entire upper and bottom lip with liner. Apply lipstick from center to the corner.

My Experience With Elle 18 Color Boost Lipstick Coral Nude:

Packaging: This lipstick comes in a cute pink and black bullet style casing. It has a bright pink cap which is made of plastic but the cap shuts very tightly. So it makes it quite travel-friendly. All the lipsticks from this range have similar packaging, so color identification is pretty tough. Of course, the shade names and numbers are written at the bottom of the lipsticks.
Shade: I picked up the shade Coral Nude to be safe. But it makes my face little washed out. So this might not suit medium to dark skin tones. It is a nice shade for someone who is very fair.

Texture and Formula: The texture is very buttery. It glides like a dream on lips. It is super soft and has a creamy finish. It has a dual-core, containing cocoa butter which hydrates the lips. The lips don't feel dry at all. The fragrance is to die for. It smells heavenly. It smells like vanilla-butterscotch. But then, I am not happy with the formula. The moment I apply it, no matter how soft and supple my lips are, the lipstick tends to settle on the fine lines and becomes flaky. It also transfers a lot. Having cocoa butter as the main ingredient makes it melt a lot too. So I don't travel with it because the packaging is sturdy but the formula is not. So I keep it in the fridge. You cannot keep it out of the fridge for long.
Staying Power: Again I am disappointed in this department. It hardly stays on my lips for 1-1.5 hours, that too when I am not talking, drinking and eating. So, staying 6 hours non-stop is a tall claim. Though, it's not a major con for the price you are paying. Maybe, other shades from this range have better staying power than the nudes.

Final Note:

It is worth the money as we don't even get a lip balm for 150 INR these days. But I don't suggest you to buy Coral Nude shade in particular. I might try different shades from this range as the texture is quite good and the fragrance is heavenly. I reach out for this lipstick only to sniff it.
