Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick Vibrant Mandarin 885 Review

Hello, everyone! Hope you all enjoyed the Navratri and Durga Puja. Continuing the streak with the haul reviews, today I am going to review another lipstick from the house of Maybelline. I received tons of Maybelline lip colors in my Diva Likes haul and every color is a stunning beauty. Maybelline didn't launch the 'Vivid Color Sensational' series in India but did launch the 'Vivid Matte' and also going to add 5-6 more shades during the ongoing Amazon Fashion Week. Coming to the 'Vivid Color Sensational' series, it has around 10 shades available in the US. The color, Vibrant Mandarin, which I am going to review isn't for the faint heart. Read on to know more about the lip color in detail.

Step 1: Apply lipstick in the center of your upper lip and follow the contours of your mouth.
Step 2. Glide the lipstick across the entire bottom lip.

My Experience With Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick Vibrant Mandarin 885:

Packaging: Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick Vibrant Mandarin has the light weight orange colored translucent plastic cap and a shining silver body. The name of the shade and number is written below and since the packaging is color coded, it is very easy to identify the shade. The packaging is lightweight and easy to carry. Funnily, the name of the brand is hardly written anywhere. Overall, the packaging is good and travel-friendly.
Shade: The shade 'Vibrant Mandarin' is a bold, medium-dark orange with strong red undertones. It has basically red, orange and coral – all punched together. The shade stands true to its name and it is truly vibrant and bright. The color is clear, vivid and vibrant. The shade is a striking one for fair to medium skin tones and best paired up with a winged or cat eye liner. The shade wouldn't suit much for darker skin tones. It is a true spring color and brightens up the face instantly. If you feel the color is too bright and bold for you, you can also wear it as a tint. The color is very close to MAC Sail La Vie, in fact, you can call it a dupe.

Pigmentation: The shade has medium to buildable pigmentation. The color payoff is rich but if the lips are heavily pigmented, you will need a lip liner or concealer. But if the lips are naturally pigmented, it is good enough to present you with a bold vivid color.
Texture: The texture of the lipstick is lightweight, creamy and thus glides easily on the lips. The rich creamy texture is great for hydrating the lips and won't accentuate on the dry patches at all. It will not highlight the fine lines as well. The texture is a great one if you love creamy lipsticks and feels comfortable. The color, despite being creamy, never bleeds or feathers at all. Thus, you don't need an additional lip liner or primer at all.
Formula and Finish: The formula of the lipstick is creamy, as I have mentioned earlier and this is why it transfer, but very slightly. The finish is creamy and balm-like. It gives out a fabulous sheen and surely looks great. It will not stain the lips at all.

Staying Power: The color stayed on my lips for around 5-5.5 hours. It nourishes the lips throughout and leaves behind a nice orange tint to the lips even after it fades off. The longevity of the color depends a lot on the food and fluid intake. It does survive light snack and drink but fades off after heavy meals. Pricing has been done well and it is a good drugstore creamy lip color.
