Maybelline Color Sensational Nude Lipstick Ravishing Rose 975 Review

Maybelline always launches some new collection during spring and fall and most of these collections are limited editions. Around the spring 2014, Maybelline launched their "Dare To Go Nude Limited Edition Collection" and the shade 975 Ravishing Rose. Actually, there are four shades in the collection, namely - Nude Embrace, Barely Bronze, Raw Reveal and Ravishing Rose. Nude/MLBB colors are my safe zone colors forever and honestly, I can never get over them. I have already reviewed the shade Nude Embrace, and here is the second review of the collection - Ravishing Rose.

Directions For Use:

Apply lip color starting in the center of your upper lip. Work from the center to the outer edges of your lip, following the contours of your mouth. Then glide across the entire bottom lip.

My Experience With Maybelline Color Sensational Nude Lipstick Ravishing Rose 975:

Packaging: Maybelline Color Sensational Nude Lipstick Ravishing Rose comes in a slender rectangular structure with a long plastic cap. The plastic cap is color coded which enables you to identify the shade. The shade name and number are also written at the bottom. Uncapping, you will find the gleaming silver body with the twist up function. Although, I am quite accustomed with the similar 'Color Sensational' packaging, I still find it very pretty as it is light weight and travel friendly too.
Shade: The shade 975 Ravishing Rose is a cool tone pale pink color with slight pastel coral undertones. The collection 'Spring 2014 Dare To Go Nude Limited Edition' is full of cool toned pale colors. Even the color 'Nude Embrace (970)' washed me out. However, while purchasing you have to keep in mind that the collection was launched in the west where most of the skin tones are pale and cool toned and hence these are perfect nude for them. The color 975 Ravishing Rose is surely going to wash out any warm skin tone in a jiff. Personally, I can never let go a nude lipstick. I generally wear this color and apply a deep berry or mauve pink on top. I make sure to merge both the colors to get a shade of my own. So, if you happened to purchase this color and don't want to waste it, mix and match it with something.

Pigmentation: The pigmentation is great. Single swipe gives you an amazing color pay off and for a neat look, go for another swipe. Since the color is nude, you can dab a little bit onto the lips for a nude look and top it with a gloss for a soft daytime look as well.
Texture: The texture of the Maybelline Color Sensational lipsticks are rich and creamy. It glides on the lips like a butter and feels heavenly. The creamy layer gives enough hydration to the lips and feels extremely comfortable. However, if your lips are chapped and dry, the creamy layer has the tendency to get stuck on. So make sure you have exfoliated the lips very well prior application. Since it is hydrating, you won't need lip balm underneath. The color, despite being creamy and luscious, doesn't bleed or feather on the lips at all.
Formula and Finish: The formula is creamy and feel good. It will not pull or tug the lips at all. It is formulated with the goodness of precious oils and nutrition that gives a comfortable feel to the lips. The finish is creamy and satin. It looks extremely nice and imparts a slight sheen on the lips. The formula and finish is surely one of my favorite.
Staying Power: The staying power of the lipstick is around 4-4.5 hours. Since I have tested out the staying power at home (can't wear the color alone!), I believe the food and fluid intake depends a lot. When I layered this one with another lip color, it stayed on my lips around the same time with minimal fading after food. For a creamy lipstick, the staying power is really good. The price is also reasonable for the quality it delivers.

Final Note:

Maybelline Color Sensational Nude Lipstick Ravishing Rose is a cool tone pale pink color with slight pastel coral undertones that will wash you out unless you have a pale fair skin tone. However, except for the color, the lipstick has a great quality to vouch for. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone with warm skin tone but if you have mistakenly purchased, you can work it out with deeper lip colors (refer the lip swatch above).
