Miss Claire Soft Matte Lip Creams are a rage nowadays. They are often considered to be a dupe for NYX soft matte lip creams. Ever since I got to know about them, I wanted to get my hands on them but sadly the availability is an issue. I finally somehow bought one of the shades. So let's see what the rage is all about.
About Miss Claire Soft Matte Lip Cream 42:
It's not lipstick, nor is it gloss. It's like nothing you've experienced before. It is a lipstick cream that goes on silky but looks soft matte.
Price:
150 INR for 6.5 g
Ingredient List:
Isohexadecane, beeswax, glyceryl behenate, dimethicone crosspolymer, talc, propylene carbonate, methyl crosspolymer, silica, aluminium starch octenylsuccinate, parfum.
Shelf Life:
24 months
Directions For Use:
Apply directly to lips or over lipstick. Apply with lip liner to define the outline of lips.
My Experience With Miss Claire Soft Matte Lip Cream 42:
Packaging: The lip cream comes in a see-through cylindrical shaped bottle with a black cap. It has a plastic sheet wrapped around the tube which declares the expiry date. So read the expiry date before you decide to just throw away the wrapper. The shade number is written at the bottom of the tube. The tube is itself transparent, so color identification is very easy. It is very lightweight and travel-friendly. It easily fits into a jeans pocket. It comes with a doe-foot applicator which is high-quality and picks up the right amount of product.
Shade: I wanted a deep red shade, so the SA gave me shade 42 which is a maroon- brownish color having a subtle purple undertone to it. I simply love the color. It's quite a bold color, but it doesn't call for attention much. I am sure this shade will suit almost everyone. Moreover, it doesn't have any shimmer or sheen to it.
Texture: The texture is incredible. It says matte but it's very smooth and applies like butter. It spreads evenly without being flaky. It settles into a complete matte finish in about 5 minutes. I don't like matte lipsticks much because of my dry lips but it's interesting to know that this lip cream behaves so nicely on my dry lips. Though, it's always preferable to exfoliate your lips prior to applying this lip cream as it may intensify the fine lines otherwise. This doesn't further dry out my lips, unlike other matte lipsticks. It doesn't settle into fine lines even after fading which is a plus point.
Pigmentation: The pigmentation is very good. In just one stroke you get a perfect color on your lips. You can layer it up also to build the intensity. It covers the pigmentation on lips with ease.
Staying Power: The lip cream stays on me for about 2-3 hours when I have drinks in between. It transfers a little and tends to wear off after heavy meals from the center of the lips, though re-application is not a problem. It doesn't look heavy or patchy on re-application. Since its matte, I was expecting it to stay a little longer as I hate touch-ups. But sadly, this too fades off within 2-3 hours. May be, a lip liner underneath will make it stay a little long. Nevertheless, for the price, it's a steal.

Final Note:
I love these soft matte lip creams. The texture is smooth and creamy. It behaves nicely on my dry lips; anything which is good for my dry lips is already a hit for me. I will buy all the other shades soon.

The shade looks lighter on the lips than the swatch. Was it intentional?
ReplyDeleteThe lip shade is too lighter than it sounds. Nevertheless, Miss Claire is always my favorite, I would rather go for these than NYX :P
