By now, you all must be aware of my obsession for lip balms. Even if I own 100 lip balms, I will never be satisfied. I am that greedy when it comes to lip balms. So no surprises there! I am here the review of The Body Shop Cocoa Butter Lip Care Stick which is sent by Lavanya in my recent Diva Likes haul. So let's read further.
About The Body Shop Cocoa Butter Lip Care Stick:
This lip balm in a stick contains real cocoa butter. It leaves lips moisturized and kissably soft. Moisturizes, creamy butter-like texture, leaves lips soft.
Price:
350 INR for 4.2 g
Shelf Life:
2 years
Ingredients List:
Not mentioned but contains real cocoa butter.
Directions For Use:
Apply as required throughout the day.
My Experience with The Body Shop Cocoa Butter Lip Care Stick:
Packaging: It comes in a regular plastic sleek stick form with a twist-up mechanism. All the details are written on the body. It is easy to use and hygienic of course. The cap shuts tightly making it travel-friendly.
Flavor: As the name suggests, the flavor is cocoa. It smells exactly like raw cocoa. Someone who loves the smell of cocoa will definitely love this lip balm. I am not a fan of the cocoa smell. In fact, I get headaches because I find the smell too strong. It just gets on my nerves and I cannot think of applying this to my lips knowing fully how close lips are from the nose. But apart from the flavor, I like everything it has to offer. It is the best for chapped lips. It heals dry lips and moisturizes them as well.
Texture: It is smooth as butter. It glides effortlessly. It doesn't have any shimmer, but it provides a sheen to the lips without giving any sort of color as it is colorless. Since it is colorless, it will not hide pigmentation from your lips. It can be worn alone or under a lipstick. If you are someone who likes to have a lip balm giving you that little flush of color to lips then this lip balm will not solve your purpose.
Performance: It is a very rich lip balm, the only purpose being to hydrate and moisturize the lips and heal dry, chapped lips. It is very comfortable to wear on lips, has healing properties and it is non-sticky. It leaves behind a residue which protects your lips. It is not a white-ish cast and doesn't look odd.
Staying Power: It stays for quite long say about 3-4 hours. Even after it is removed, the lips feel hydrated and moisturized. So you don't have to re-apply the lip balm every 1 hour.

Final Note:
I love this lip balm for the formula and hydration it provides. Now that winters are coming, it is a must have product. Dry, chapped and flaky lips are common in winters, so it will provide good moisturization. But since I didn't like the smell, I won't use it. I know my sister using a particular cocoa lip balm for ages, so I have given it to her. She was adamant not to use it because she doesn't like to experiment with lip balms and sticks to her age old cocoa lip balm. But ever since she has started to use The Body Shop Cocoa Butter Lip Care Stick, she loves it.
