Before I start this review, let me tell you the various ways of rose water manufacturing methods. I have been meaning to do a DIY on the same but the special kind of rose (not the general red rose) I need isn't available anywhere I live. Rose water is manufactured in three ways. Firstly, the steam distillation method (like Kama Ayurveda Rose Water, Oil Craft Rose Water, Forest Essential Rose Water), the filter method where roses are boiled and then the water is filtered (Patanjali Divya Gulab Jal) and the one with rose oil and lots of chemicals (Dabur Gulab Jal). The last one is laden with chemicals while the other two are comparatively good for your skin. Patanjali, as a brand, mentioned that it has no chemicals or preservatives but then they didn't provide the ingredients list. This particular rose water is working well on my skin and I have exhausted around 6-7 bottles of it. Here is my thorough review on the same.
About Patanjali Divya Gulab Jal Rose Water:
Divya Patanjali Gulab Jal is the most natural product that you can trust for your skin and eyes. It is prepared with the blend of fresh rose petals and fresh water. It beautifies the skin from within. It reaches to the open pores effectively and cleans them to bring out the natural shine on the face. It is good for all kinds of skin ailments as it provides a cooling sensation to the affected skin. It takes complete care of skin without the inclusion of any chemical. Divya Patanjali Gulab Jal is good for eyes as well. It is good for itching, burning sensation, watering and reddish eyes. It instantly relieves eyes aches and improves sight. It is used in many beauty products as it is completely safe without any side-effects.

My Experience With Patanjali Divya Gulab Jal Rose Water:
Patanjali Divya Gulab Jal Rose Water comes in a lightweight and transparent plastic bottle with the cylindrical structure. The bottle is secured with a sturdy pink screw cap. The opening of the bottle is wide and honestly, it is a pain to travel with. Moreover, the bottle has the tendency to leak as well if you don't make it stand properly. I do realize that the price is dirt cheap and I believe they have paid no heed to the packaging at all. Therefore, I prefer to store it in a spray bottle most of the time. Overall, the packaging isn't impressive at all.
The water is colorless and I found pieces of rose petals at the end of the bottle. This is one thing that really makes me question the filter method because I am not sure if it is a good thing. However, not all the bottles have it, I only found that in 2-3 bottles out of all the bottles I purchased. There is an aromatic note of rose in it but nothing artificial or overwhelming. The smell is not as strong as the Dabur one I have used earlier. The rose water can be used in various ways and it has never caused any irritation, redness, tingling sensation or breakouts on my skin. It cleanses well and imparts a subtle glow as well.
Throughout the summer, I used this as a face refresher and toner. I use to carry it around in a spray bottle and spritzed whenever I needed it. Also, sweat and dirt often clogged my pores and I used the rose water on a cotton ball and cleansed my face. No matter what face pack I used to apply, rose water is the staple ingredient. The Multani Mitti and rose water combination worked like a charm in the summer to keep the acne at bay. For winters, I used to spray it on my face lightly and applied facial oils. It helped the oil to get absorbed quickly without any greasiness. It also worked like a charm for puffy eyes and gave a cooling sensation. Since I have hereditary dark circles, I can't comment it works on that. This product tightens the skin pores and helps in maintaining the oil balance in the skin. It also prevents inflammation of the skin. It is also a useful substance for sunburns.
Thus, Patanjali Divya Gulab Jal Rose water is a very useful substance. It not only helps in nourishing the skin but also helps you to look young, healthy and beautiful. Coming to the price point, it is surely one of the most affordable ones. It won't make a radical difference to your skin but then it is a staple product and personally, I can't do without it.

That's a nice product from Patanjali...however I am yet to try their range.
ReplyDeleteThis brand is slightly confusing to me, some are good while others are horrible. :/
DeleteSalomi, since u hv used both dabur nd patanjali...which one do u suggest ?
ReplyDeleteI would surely advise the Patanjali one but at least once, try out the Kama Ayurveda one. It is like a HG rose water.
DeleteThank you so very much for the detailed review, helped a lot !
