As you all have seen my review on the ALMON Sponge, we know how much I loved it. This time I decided to invest in something better and the only cost effective thing that came to my mind is the YBP Makeup Perfector. I have heard great reviews about this one and was convinced enough to go for it. Also, the price was slashed during the sale and I wasted no time in purchasing this. Festive season means I have to blend too many products and I wanted to see how this little fellow worked. Having used it continuously for the past 2-3 weeks, here is my review on the same.

My Experience With YBP Makeup Perfector Sponge Lust Black:
Packaging: The packaging of the YBP Makeup Perfector Sponge has really impressed me. It comes in a container which is made of plastic. It is cylindrical in shape with small holes in it. The holes are designed so that the sponge doesn't form dampness or fungus in it. There is also a lid to close it. The lid looks like a metal tray which can be used for mixing foundation. In general, I use the back of my hand for mixing but I found it easier to mix on the tray. The only thing is that you have to do is keep it clean. I have mixed two to three shades of foundation and a little illuminator for a festive look and found it very convenient. All in all, I loved the packaging and it is very easy to store or travel with.
Shape: The shape of the product would remind you of the much-raved Original Beauty Blender. But taking a very close look you would know the difference. It has a teardrop shape with a broad surface on the below with a conical shape. The shape is perfect in my opinion. The broad surface is better than the Original Beauty Blender and helps you to dab and bounce the foundation well on the skin. The conical shape on the top reaches out to the inner corner of the eyes and other slimmer areas for a flawless blending. The sides of the sponge are perfect for contouring, highlighter, and blush. Overall, the shape is perfect and works well.
Softness: This is one feature everyone would look for in a latex free sponge. The sponge is soft enough for the skin and blends seamlessly. When I first touched the sponge it felt soft even when it was dry. It swells up under water when you squeeze it back and forth. It will immediately enlarge when soaked in water, about 50% of its dry state. Simply squeeze out the water and soak it in a clean dry towel. The sponge doesn't soak too much product at all and the density is very impressive as well.
Blending Ability: Before I say how seamlessly it blends everything, let me tell you how many ways you can use this - Moisturizer, primer, foundation, BB creams, CC creams, concealer, color corrector, highlighter, contouring, baking and dabbing compact power foundations. Yes, this is the perfect sponge to make your base look flawless and smooth. I had to get ready in 15 minutes with full base makeup in one of the events, and this sponge made everything look so easy. I love the way it blends everything and makes it look like my skin. Make sure the sponge is not dripping wet else it will sheer out everything.
Washing: At present, I use a mild shampoo to clean the sponge. I soak it in water, shampoo and rub the surface with the fingers. It takes very little time to wash off and therefore easy to maintain. Also, make sure to squeeze out the soap-laden water from it for hygiene purpose.
Longevity: Even though it was merely weeks that I am using it, but I have to clean the sponge every alternative day due to heavy usage. Truth be told, I am not a very patient person when it comes to cleaning and these sponges require delicacy. However, even after so many washes, the sponge is still sturdy and intact and there has been no tears or roughness at all. I believe it will surely last me a long time.
Price: Latex free sponges don't come cheap. The brand has well priced the product as the Original Beauty Blender costs twice. Therefore, price wise I am happy and also planning to get a backup as I hate washing it every alternative day. I so wish they have a little discount on the festive season.
