I have developed a soft corner for pink lip colors and of lately I picked up a lot of pink lipsticks from various brands. I was so excited when Lavanya sent me the Color Sensational Lip Gradation Pink 1 from the house of Maybelline. Also, pink lip color is such an amazingly beautiful trend for summers. It goes along with every outfit and looks very chic. I have been trying out this Lip Gradation Pink 1 alone as well as with other lip colors to mix and match. Here's the detailed review on the same.

My Experience With Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Gradation Pink 1:
Packaging: Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Gradation have quite a nice sleek twist up pencil formation. On one side there is a sponge tip (secure with a translucent cap) attached to create the ombre lip trend and the other side has the lip color, which is further secured with a black cap. The packaging is completely color coded and I love that. The lip color has to be twisted which is more convenient than regular sharpening. Overall, I love the packaging and have no complaints regarding it.
Shade: The shade Pink 1 is a true pink color with cooler undertones. The color has the right balance of brightness and boldness but nothing obnoxious at all. In general, strong and neon-y barber pink doesn't suit my complexion at all but this one is so pretty! It is the perfect pink for college goers and will suit fair to medium skin tones. I see myself reaching out to this color in this summer a lot. For deeper to duskier complexions, I would advise the Pink 2 or Fuchsia. The only thing that bothers me is the name. I mean such pretty colors deserve a good name and not mere numerical.
Pigmentation: The pigmentation is good. I was expecting a medium color pay off but with 2-3 swipes, you get that perfect opaque finish w looks classy. Also, the structure of the pencil is such that I can use it as a lip liner too. In fact, I have used this as a lip liner, proper lip color as well as lip gradation.
Texture: The texture surprised me. It has the smoothest and soft texture. So make sure you don't apply to much pressure while application. It does glide flawlessly if the lips are well prepped. To make the most out of the texture, I would advise proper well prepped lips for a cleaner look. It feels very comfortable than any of the matte lipsticks in my stash. The texture is such that you can easily blend this to create the ombre lips effect.
Formula and Finish: The formula is comfortable and doesn't make my lips go dry. It has a powdery matte finish and looks so natural. It will not accentuate the fine lines unless the lips are very dry. The lip color transfers slightly but nothing detestable.
Staying Power: The staying power, collectively, is good but not extraordinary. As a lip liner, it helps to make the lip color stay for a long time. As a full opaque lip color, it stayed on my lips for a good 5+ hours and it fades off a little after heavy meal and leaves behind a faded poppy pink lip stain. As a lip gradation, the staying power is low because it only stayed for 2+ hours. Although, it isn't much of an issue because I don't generally wear lippies as gradation. Now, coming to the disappointing part, you are paying too much for too little quantity. 500 INR for 1.25 g is way less and it is disappointing from a drugstore brand like Maybelline.

Final Note:
I have mixed thoughts about this product. On one hand, I am head over heels with the texture, formula, and packaging. On the other hand, I feel the product is more of a marketing gimmick. The lip gradation thing can be done with any satin matte lip color and thus you exactly don't need this. But, I do like the color and formula of this range. Therefore, I would only recommend for the matte and comfortable formula.
