Hello, everyone. Today I am going to review one of the Maybelline Mascaras for you. Mascara has become my daily use product, just like Kohl. It adds so much volume and definition to the eye makeup and I love wearing them every day. I received this Magnum Barbie Mascara in my Diva Likes haul and have been trying it out for a couple of months. Magnum Barbie promises to deliver fluttery Barbie-like lashes. So let's see whether it lives up to my expectation or not.

My Experience With Maybelline New York Magnum Barbie Mascara:
Maybelline New York Magnum Barbie Mascara comes in a funky yellow and metallic pink packaging and I absolutely love it. My stash is overflowing with Maybelline mascaras and this one surely stands out for packaging. The cap is proper and the wand has a lot of similarity with the Falsies Mascara. The wand has a slight curve to it but not flexible like the Falsies Mascara. The bristles are short and packed closely, in an unruly manner. However, it coats the lashes pretty well and works easily in a hurry.
The mascara is available in only one shade – black. The deepness of the color is pretty good and gives a definition to my lashes. You don't need too many coats but only two layers for the color to coat the lashes. The mascara is also available in only one formula but from what I have seen – it is not completely water proof but water resistant. However, it is smudge proof and doesn't flake throughout the day.
Both the texture and formula of the mascara is medium, neither too thick nor runny. It is slightly creamy and thus helps to coat the lashes well. But, one thing that I don't like about this mascara is that it has teeny-tiny fibers in it which help to add volume to the lashes. As such, my eyes are not super-sensitive. But whenever I use this mascara, after some time the fibers tend to go into my eyes and cause serious irritation. The first day it happened, I let it go but later I noticed that it happens every time and therefore, it is very difficult to use this mascara. I always have to use another clear mascara to prevent the fibers from going into the lashes.
Coming to the claim of 'fluttery lashes', this mascara will only add volume if you have proper natural eyelashes. If you try to build up more than two coats, you will end up with thick spidery lashes but that doesn't look very good, at least to me. Both the coats have to be applied simultaneously to prevent clumping. It curls the lashes well and the formula is decent. The lashes don't feel crunchy, unlike the Falsies Mascara. The staying power is almost the whole day and it is easy to remove and nothing like those stubborn water-proof mascaras. Thus, it is long wearing.

Final Note:
I have always adored the Maybelline mascaras but I really didn't have a good experience with this one. It has too many complicated cons and is not something I would ever recommend to anyone. There are better Maybelline mascaras available in the market and you can skip this one.
